Bed, Bath and begone: Clock ticking for remaining stores. Here’s when they will close.
Shoppers looking for bargains have just days to shop at Florida’s Bed, Bath & Beyond stores before the storied chain closes its doors for good, joining other home décor big-box stores Linens N’ Things, Pier 1 and more recently, Tuesday Morning, to leave Jacksonville’s retail landscape.
Bed, Bath & Beyond – as well as its buybuy Baby stores – will close to the public on Sunday, July 30, the company told USA TODAY Network-Florida. The closings come some three months after the home goods retailer filed for bankruptcy in late April.
“We encourage customers to shop with us while inventory remains and appreciate their longstanding support and trust in us through their most important life moments for more than 50 years,” the company said in a statement.

Bed, Bath & Beyond in Jacksonville
In the Jacksonville area, Bed, Bath & Beyond operates two stores: 8810 Southside Blvd. and 4054 3rd St. S. in Jacksonville Beach. Earlier this year, two other stores closed at 3221 City Station Drive and 6001-24 Argyle Forest Blvd.
Buybuy Baby’s lone Northeast Florida store is at 8801 Southside Blvd., near Bed, Bath & Beyond.
According to the company’s website, stores are offering discounts from 50% to 75% off the lowest ticketed prices on merchandise in all departments. (Note that gift cards, merchandise credits and rewards are no longer accepted.) Select store fixtures are also for sale.
Store hours at the remaining locations may vary, with some closing as early as 5 p.m.
But Like Pier 1, though, the Bed, Bath & Beyond name isn’t going away. Expect it to continue as an online retailer. A message at the top of the company’s website says that “bedbathandbeyond.com will return soon!”
